On Saturday the graphics group presented XML3D at the Day of the Open Door at Saarland University. Nearly 200 visitors came to see XML3D and to know more about the background of the development.

During the course of the demonstrations different demos highlighting different aspects of XML3D were presented. Two different car configurators showed the possibility to create complex Internet based applications through XML3D. Games like Mars City or Gutterballs show the real time capabilities and easy setup of sophisticated applications. As a special application an interactive 3D map of the campus was shown, contrasting the wast potential of XML3D over the usual campus maps that most visitors carried around with them on the back covers of their Open Door program.

thanks for this post, keep up the good work (I’ve been a reader of XML3D on the Day of the Open Door XML3D.ORG for more than 2 years!:) [long title though:]
